On U.S. Highway 50, this oasis in high desert country boasts 30 full grown Russian Olive trees and several full grown elms. It is near numerous lakes — only two miles from Gunnison Bend Reservoir, for example, that offer bass fishing, swimming, boating, and a beach. If rock hounding is your passion, this area will thrill you with garnets, topaz, Apache tears, red beryl, and trilobites. This resort is a great destination spot for fishermen and rock hounds.
